What is the Center?
The Center is a privately funded organization housed in the Department of Marketing, Mays Business School, Texas A&M University. Our mission is to prepare students for retailing careers and to instill retailing best practices through executive education.

Who funds the Center?
Sponsor companies pay an annual fee.

What are the benefits of sponsorship?
The Center provides a bridge between the academic and business communities. Sponsor benefits include access to retailing students, greater visibility at Texas A&M University, and cooperative projects with CRS for the betterment of retailing.

How does a company become a sponsor?
A company indicates an interest in sponsorship by contacting the Center at 979-845-5898.  We welcome the opportunity to customize a sponsor benefit package for your company.

How do students benefit from Center programs?
Students have unique opportunities to interact with companies through the Center's network. They may participate in an internship program and may earn a Certificate in Retailing, indicating preparation and commitment to retailing as a career.

Do students have to register at both the TAMU Career Center and at CRS to participate in the internship process?

No. Students register online with the Career Center. CRS internships are listed on the Career Center's web site. Companies offering internships through CRS will provide instructions on how to proceed.

Can a student receive college credit for an internship?
Yes, students may earn internship credit by taking MKTG 484 Internship taught by Kelli Hollinger.  This is an on-line course. All intenships for academic credit and for the Certificate in Retailing must be approved by Mrs. Hollinger prior to the student accepting the position.  Internships must be 300 hours in length, with the majority of time dedicated to professional development (not clerical or general associate duties).

Is the student required to have a 3.0 GPA in every class to receive the Certificate in Retailing?
No, a 3.0 GPA is only required in each of the 3 retailing related classes.
