DRESS FOR SUCCESS

Men's Business Casual

Shirt

Depending on the occasion, a sports coat with a nice solid or striped button-down shirt is appropriate.  Make sure the stripes are subtle and the clothing is not too loud.

Coat

The coat should be a neutral color such as black, navy, gray, or tweed.

Slacks

Choose a pair of slacks that look professional.  They should fit properly and coordinate with your shirt.  Choose a neutral color such as black brown, tan, gray, or navy.  No jeans!

Tie

A tie is not necessary for business casual attire.

Shoes

Business casual shoes are similar to business professional shoes.  They should match your outfit and be cleaned and polished.  Preferably, they should be leather.  Although lace-up shoes are not necessary, be sure to pick a style that is conservative and still looks professional.

Extras

Accessories should be kept to a minimum.  The only jewelry you should wear is a gold or silver watch, a wedding band, and/or a class ring.  Also, always wear dark colored socks and be sure the leather of your belt matches your shoes.

Tips to Remember

*The difference between business casual and business professional is that you will not be wearing a suit jacket and tie.
*Business casual does NOT mean unprofessional.
*Remember to avoid loud colors.
*When in doubt, dress up rather than dress down.
