Zale Scholars study in the Gallery Furniture Retail Education Lobby

Jim McIngvale is a master merchant.  Owner and founder of the largest single-store furniture showroom in the world, “Mattress Mack” loves to save people money, deliver true excellence in customer service, and offer the widest selection of quality furniture for any discerning buyer. 

To inspire a new generation of students to discover the world of retailing, he will create the Gallery Furniture Retail Education Lobby in Mays Business School.   McIngvale provided the furniture to attract students to the area to relax, study and stay to learn about retailing.  A flat-panel television broadcasts current business news, major marketing campaigns, and specially recorded CEO interviews that add to the educational experience offered by the Center for Retailing Studies. 

The space was formally dedicated on Tuesday, March 29, 2011.
