Internships

CRS TAMU

Internships are an essential compliment to classroom experience.  By requiring an internship as part of the Certificate in Retailing, all of our graduates develop the necessary hands- on skills needed to understand what the retailing business is all about and if it is right for them.

Each year, almost 100 students complete internships throughout Texas and across the nation in store management, professional sales, advertising, merchandising, and wholesale.  Through the semi-annual Retailing Career Fair hosted annually on our campus, students are able to secure internships with the world’s largest big-box chains and independent boutiques.  The career fair is often cited by students as the first point of contact with their future employers.  More than 70 major retailers actively hire interns from Texas A&M University.

A formal internship requires 300 hours of professional work and may be completed during the summer or an academic semester.

Questions:
Students should see Kelli Hollinger, internship advisor, for approval of their internships prior to acceptance.  Students may earn academic credit for their work, and should see Mrs. Hollinger for the requirements.
